My wife and I were at a club last night. One of her coworkers spins dubstep, so we went to check it out. While talking to him he mentioned a style called "drumstep". I have noticed that while I like drumstep and dubstep well enough, I kind of feel like I am waiting on the track to "go" like it's getting ready but never starts. Am I just crazy, or old or both? What to y'all think?

Drumstep is usually what unexperienced dnb heads like to call a particular style of dnb where the beat pattern is similar to that of dubstep. However.... all the new generation kids of dnb think they came up with it but it's been around for years. I think drumstep is a stupid name for halfstep dnb and I decided to call what I produce (well at least in some of my tracks) drumstep. And yes, I do get criticized for it... even on the web :)
