Linux MultiMedia Studio (LMMS)

Postby Aciphecs on Tue Jul 12, 2011 10:56 am

Just started using this open-source DAW and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it? It is great so far and with it and Audacity (also open-source if you're not familiar) I've been able to do a lot for free :D

I use it as a fun, little scratchpad, although i know it's a clone of Fruity Loops and can be used in a similar fashion. I like the way the synths sound.

Yea, I've never tried FL but that's what I'm hearing/reading. I've never used any DAWs really, but got started with the Playstation Music Generator and this reminds me of those days. Fun for sure :D

Thanks for the info, will have to check this out in the future as a possible basis for Grooveleton.

I know there is a way to run linux from the bios chip (instead of it rather)... so basically insta-boot which would be something interesting to explore.
