Networking sites for music?

Postby Stilo on Sun Jun 08, 2008 8:21 am

Hey y'all,

I'm looking for any experience, comments or advice about the various networking sites around, like MySpace, Soundclick, Virb or whatever else. I'm looking for one to post some music on, and don't know which to choose. The only thing I know is I never liked MySpace, because almost every single page looks crappy and doesn't work properly either.

I recently discovered this Virb thing, which some guys here and at Korg-Forums seem to use - but I didn't even find any artists from Germany on there... :|

me!
I like Virb(I wonder if it´s got something to do with Vurt ;) ). It seems to be quite serious and somehow like an underground-thing too and for this reason I like it much more than "mys..." with it´s ugly layout and all it´s annoying advertising, though I got a myspace-site too...

soundclick will get you heard the fastest... but it's got a terrible layout, hard to navigate and I almost never go to it to find music....

virb is the most mature and although less popular, is my top choice. There is no random bullshit like spam and advertising it's all about music.

myspace sucks.

Yea, Virb makes the most professional impression to me as well. Soundclick seems more commercial. I don't want to sell anything, just need a site to host some files to listen to, without having people download them.

it's actually not a bad way to get out infos on shows (bulletins)

i'm bad, for not having cards (or a website  )
when ever someone asks how can i find you, i say
if you can remember my name, you can find me on...

ya but if they actually care about who you are then they'll remember. ;) I still nag your ass all the time ;)

but ya tru dat about myspace but I think it should only be a secondary vehicle to the public. I've been thinking about making a myspace that will actually have the design removed and recreated from my website. But then just leave the abillity to message and such.

surelly you wanna be on as many sites as possble,
even if they are irrating like myspace, cause even if you only get handfull of views, its still worth it, gotta get your music up everywhere, and crank-up the exposure your getting from the public!
