Rule ideas...?

Postby StellarJay[aka Ruso] on Mon May 19, 2008 10:00 pm

Hey guys, since this is a new community and the goal is to provide a fair and safe place for everyone to hang out and help each other, I realised that unlike korg-forums, some rules need to be put in place. Some of the more obvious ones like flaming, spamming, talking crap but some mroe specific ones aswell.

I'd like to hear some ideas or perhaps maybe even a short draft we can all start and edit until we establish rules as a community.

Thanks for any ideas and comments.

We have a really well behaved forum over at Abletonlivedjs.com, especially as we have close to 11,000 members now. I think one of the keys was stating up front that threads dealing with religion, politics, name-calling, flaming, etc would be locked asap. Anything goes as long as it's in the right forum (ie, our Off Topic forum) and doesn't offend others. We try to steer conversations to have something to do with music too.

I think another big thing is that we have a team of mods (and our own forum section) who all discuss how to handle any issues that come up before action is taken. Prevents people from taking things the wrong way, and makes sure the mods don't get heavy handed with deleting or locking threads.
