Postby Justinhatesyou123 on Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:51 pm

So i decided to expand my set to include my laptop with ableton live. I have a oxygen 49 key controller. I however have NEVER used musical software!. Someone maybe help me out a bit??
Tell me how to even make sounds? can't even get sounds usin the midi controller =[ Also has anyone found a good way of using Ableton in sync with an EMX?

Yes Justin, you can perfectly sync emx with ableton... i had this same trouble
First of all, you'll need an audio interface (asio) to connect emx and ableton through midi in/out
Then, go to ableton's midi sync preferences
It works really good to me with ableton as master and emx as slave
Sorry that i can't explain in better words... my english sucks!

I'll let you in on a little secret. The first thing you want to do is read the whole manual for ableton. The second thing you want to do is do the tutorials that come with it. I guarantee this will be ten time faster and more effective then communicating with someone through a forum. Also when you're done you'll have a very big knowledge set and will be able to make music.

The only way you will learn it is by trying and trying and trying. There's not really a short cut to learning ableton. There are helpful things like the tutorials but if anything someone trying to show you something will more then likely slow you down.
