Midi start stop command issue

Postby f-ryan1 on Tue Dec 30, 2014 4:55 pm

Hello all.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to remotely trigger start stop of my esx-1.

I'm able to trigger this with my roland tmc-6 sending a sequencer start/stop command, but only if the Electribe is in slave or auto mode. However, when in auto mode, there is a 1/3 to 1/2 second delay upon triggering. I am able to do this with other sequencers, just not the Electribe.

In this instance I need the esx to be the master with downstream items slaving to it.
All this works via the Electribe transport but as soon as I try to remotely trigger--I need to be able to do this from my drumset, no go.

I find it hard to imagine that triggering pattern playback is only possible via the transport when in master mode.

Any pointers.

Thank you

Basically it should be working best with the midi sync set to EXT,
maybe your roland sequencer is sending some strange data, possibly some kind of data overflow that makes it lag?

You can try to deactive everything in the PCEN xxxx midi filter menu. I think the start/stop-command
is not affected by switching everything off. But just try it out.
