Ruso - Live PA Practice

Postby StellarJay[aka Ruso] on Sun Aug 03, 2008 8:32 am

First ever recording of my new live set. It features a wide array of my songs in my own style. There are a lot of different flavors in there.

Sorry it's a little rough here in there. The reason I wanted to record it to see how it goes is because I use a touch screen to trigger clips and it's a little different then physical buttons and that was literally my third or maybe fourth time ever playing with it.

Also same goes for effects I'm using the kp2 completely differently then I normally do so it's a little sketchy... But hence this is why it's only practice and not a real performance ;)

Oh and also the set is so massive that my computer ran out of memory rendering it so it cut out the last track.

Hope you enjoy.

oh, in case you're wondering about the screen... it's a small 9x6 sized screen designed for cars but it's VGA so it plugs directly into the computer. And I wrote a little program to take over ableton live and cover up useless stuff that I don't need to look at ;)

awesome! I'd love to see that show! what gear are you using? I love the way you use your electribes, and how you keep your drums simple, but interesting :)

very good work, it should be a good show :)

Actually I didn't get into the electribe part in that demo.

I currently use ableton live with the touch screen, trigger finger(doesn't do anything important atm) a korg microKONTROL(main midi controller)... I got an m-audio fast track ultra sound card with a berhinger hardware compressor on the master track... then I have a kaoss pad 2 running as an insertable effect which I can insert to any track in ableton and my esx which I use for a couple tracks.

Oh and thanks for comments.

Yo - nice stuff man. I really dig this.

BTW - what's the brand and model of the little touch screen you are using. Something like that would fit nicely on my K2600 for live work.

Wow nice trippy music, what soft synths did you use to create the initial pads?
