My MySpace music

Postby TrondC on Sun Jun 15, 2008 10:18 am

Updated due to a few new tracks

hi, I have made music with my electribes for a couple years now, and currently I have some of it up on MySpace. I've recorded onto my 4-track for years, and have only recently aquited a decent audio interface and recording software. Thus, some songs have a much, much better sound quality than otherts. I'm currently working on re-recording everything in proper stereo. (Midnight Sun and Strobelights have both been re-recorded recently)

In random order:

-Day of the Giants - Made with ESX + ER + microkorg + Roland fp-2 (the organ sound), genere: Progressive House

-The Owls Are Not What They Seem (Bob's Acid) - Made with ESX + ER + EA + Acidlab Bassline (Run through Holy Grail reverb and Boss DD-6 for stereo reverse delay). genere: Acid/Breakbeat

-The Owls Are Not What They Seem (Syn303 Remix) - a remix of my original tune, made by the exellent minimal/acid producer Syn303. features a TB-303, Machinedrum UW and some high end fx.

-Midnight Sun (Smooth Mix) - Made with ESX + ER, genere: Ambient/House/Chillout

-Mnemiopsis - Made with ESX + Acidlab Bassline. Minimal Electronica.

-Seizenheim - MC808 only. breakbeat/ambient/sountrack kinda thing

I am in a time where I just can't seem to settle for any specific genere, so at the moment, I'm working on Acid, Minimal, Breakbeat, D'n'B and House music at the same time..

(Previous tracks include:)

-Information is Non-Existant - Made with ESX + ER + FP-2, genere: ehm, kinda electronica, kinda breakbeat? in any case, progressive ;)

-Follow That Little Blue Newt (Hyper Mix) - Made with ESX+ER+EA, genere: Upbeat/Dance/Electronica/Nintendo (some say it reminds of old video games..)

uhm, I've got a new track up, not using any electribes (sorry!) but the MC808 (a groovebox after all) did it all, so there was no need for the ESX..

"Seizenheim", dark, breakbeat/ambient/electronica kind of thingey :)

please leave a comment :)

Wow, all that is with a single MC808? Gotta love the polyphony of that machine! I heard it's a bitch to program though, but you seem to have no problems with that

Anyway, trondc, nice d&b track and clean production. I like your second track "The Owls" too. We seem to have similar taste in artists (i saw your Myspace list), although these days I've been on a super minimal listening binge.

I very much enjoyed Seizenheim! Very good job and a big + for originality. Gonna listen to the others now.

yup, MC808 only. took a long time to learn that machine, but in the end, the lack of an easy way to erase mistakes xox-style (LOTS of menu-diving) made me decide to sell it. I've got a Monomachine since, and am currently saving up for a Machinedrum as well. maybe if the USD/NOK ratio gets better, I'll complete my groovebox set-up and snatch the EMX as well. In many ways, the MC808 should have been the ultimate groovebox/workstation, but there were just too many things that made want to smash it with a hammer. the ESX is SOOOO limited compared to the 808 on paper, but I just like my ESX ten times more.

did a total of 3 very different tunes with the MC808 last week (sold and shipped it today), so I'll try to upload some more stuff in the coming weeks.

thanx for the replies :)
