NEW ESX-1 SD- anybody know where theyre in stock?

Hey everyone- I've been lurking around here for a bit and a newb to the Electribe. I got interested in them coincidentally right when the new SD model was announced. I'm a huge Korg fan, and currently own a Korg R3, a Kaossilator, and a mini KP. I used to have a microKorg but traded it when I got the R3. ...Anyway- I'm really trying to finish my nerd setup with the ESX-1 SD. I know I can get the SmartMedia one for a lot cheaper, and I know they are essentially the same exact product minus the card format, but I really don't want to hunt down dated technology (SmartMedia) and spend 50 bucks or so on a card when I already own a bunch of SD cards. Plus I am assuming the resell value of the newer version will hold up better if I choose to sell it for whatever reason in the future.

So sorry for the huge intro- but does anyone know where the newer model is in stock? I had ordered it from Sam Ash, but was informed THREE WEEKS later that they had never ordered it and it wasn't in stock. Why they couldn't tell me that three weeks earlier is beyond me. I almost ordered it from ProAudioStar online, but the guy just called me back today and told me it was actually the SmartMedia version. I called Sweetwater online today and they also said it won't be in stock until late August or even September. DJDeals.com is also currently out of stock for the time being. BHPhoto says 7-14 days, which seems to be the shortest time comparitively, but given that everyone and their grandma on the planet says they have to wait at least a month makes the claim seem a little sketchy. So whats the deal? Is Korg just taking their time getting this jank out or what? Does anybody know where to get it anywhere? I'm dyin ovah heeeyaaah!

Huh, didn't know they released a new model. Looks pretty useless, cause the internal memory is still at 50 MB. Six years and they changed the card format. What were they thinking? Buy the older model. Much cheaper.

Good question. I thought that these newer updated models would be available by now, but apparently as you pointed out..their not! What a bummer. I was thinking about scoring another one just for the hell of it.

Anyway. It seems like they aren't really released yet. Everywhere says they'll be getting them in a few weeks- mid to late August. I'm happy to wait and waste my money on a new "useless" ESX SD though. In fact I just put in an order at Sweetwater. Free candy with my ESX mahfuckaaaaaas!

I'm in Italy and my experience is similar to dbomob's - I'm still waiting for my one.

My favorite local store ordered a couple of ESX-1-SD models a few weeks ago, but they didn't get it yet and they currently don't have reliable information about shipping time.

Moog Audio posted up finally the links for the ESX1-SD and the EMX1-SD but they still don't have it in stock. Long & McQuade has preorders/stuff on order but haven't yet informed us Canadians when it's actually being released. The last time I was told by both stores was mid June. It's almost mid August already.

KORG send us your Electribe SD models (to Canada at least!)
