I bought an ES-1 back in 2001, and i recently bought an ESX-1 just a few months ago.

I absolutely love both of these machines, and will never part with either!
I wouldnt mind having an EMX either, maybe i'll pick one up soon.

Hey dj Pound, there seems to be a flood of electribes for sale these days:

http://jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=m ... ++++go++++

so the prices should be going down. I have both emx and esx and plan to keep playing with them for a long time.

I have an EMX-1 (hands down my favorite production tool of all time), and just picked up a used ESX-1 off craigslist.org to get some samples going

funny story:

ive dabbled around in many conventional instruments (guitars, pianos, etc) for years and could never find what it was that i felt was calling me to express myself.
one day, my 15th birthday to be exact, i heard the first house music set that sparked my interest into more unconventional means of making music
so i looked at turntable/mixer setups for a few years and sheesh, how expensive are some of those records?!
i was really apprehensive about actually doing this just about the whole time, and 15 minutes before i actually decide to buy a DJ setup, i see this guy at the store playing around on this black thing and making some of the grooviest shyte ive ever heard.
that little black thing was a Korg EM-1, and those groovin sounds were just this guy jammin on a preset using the mute and solo functions

i was sold, these were what ive been looking for.
immediatly bought the EM1
4 months later i got an ER1
a year after that was an ES1
then i got wrapped up in some shyte i shouldnt have, sold them all (like a MORON) to feed my habit.

2 years later my life is back on track and ive re-bought the EM1 and ER1, and added an ESX to the stable
the funny part of the story is that the EM1 and ER1 i sold to some random guy in another state.
i just so happened to be living in that state when i was looking to re-acquire them, to my surprise i was reunited with MY ORIGINAL electribes from like 3 years prior AND THEY STILL HAD ALL MY PRESETS!!!
to this day i still think back and laugh.

my electribe stable is EM1, ER1 (soon to be MK2, maybe) and ESX
i want an EMX, but i havent decided on whether or not to setup my original electribes with a mixer (kinda how a DJ does turntables and a mixer and mix tracks together for long uninterrupted sets) or get an EMX and call it a day, stick with short epic jingles :)
decisions, decisions.

Funny story indeed. Good to hear you got things under control. I do think though, as fun and great the tribes are, you can over-tribe things a bit. It's nice to get a bit of variety in your setup too, so instead of adding a 4th tribe, how about saving up for a DSI MoPho or Evolver or some other gear to play with your existing tribes?

i thought i'd already posted in this thread; guess not. i currently own an EA MkII, ER MkII, EM-1, EMX, and ESX. my EMX is definitely my "main machine" in the studio, followed very closely by my Monomachine. some of my other gear that i use along-side the Electribes: Korg microKORG, FutureRetro Revolution, Yamaha DX200, Yamaha CS01, Roland HS-10 (basically an Alpha Juno 1), and a ton of other stuff i won't bother listing. i LOVE the Electribe series, and couldn't live without it!
ESX, EMX, EM-1, ERmkII, EA-1, EAmkII, microKORG
FR Revolution
elektron SFX-60mkII
MPC500
Yamaha CS01
& more!
