Hi everyone,

Is anyone aware of a thread or resource about making a tribe "your own"? For example, this rather cool picture of an EMX with Moog knobs..

I've seen the silver EMX-1 also, nice.

Cheers,
LW.

Yea, I stripped my ESX, changed the tubes (not really for looks) and replaced the cutoff and resonance knobs with rubber-coated Roland knobs.

For shaft size pick .236 and hit apply filters. Tada!

styleflip.com <= custom skin. They will print any image on vinyl which can be applied to the face plate of the machine.

Recently discussed: Modding the mute/solo buttons to switches so they can be toggled on.

Modification of leds on the machine (this is a hard one... you gotta solder really really small leds here). Modifying the led's that light up the tubes.

Concept idea (mounting a mini kp where the tube window is... or a kaosscillator).

As the above post says, switching tubes will give your machine a unique tone depending on the tube.

That's a sick alteration, Aciphecs! Very classy. But seeing the text is white paint on polished metal, does it get hard to read in certain conditions?

Thanks UM! Yep, it is very hard to read when it's dark (playing live). But I have a handy little clamp led light that goes right on my coffin, works great :D

What a site, thanks! Just wish they had rubber coated, but I've been thinking of trying this stuff:

Anyone tried to dip their knobs before? Keep your mind out of the gutter pervs ;)

Some cool tips, cheers. I recently changed the tubes btw, it made a nice difference.

@Aciphecs, do you happen to have a full pic of your coffin? Also I wondered if the EMX had any problems heating up when being used in the foam.

Cheers,
LW.

Here's the whole coffin, with/without lid and different led colors. It's not finished as I haven't decided if I want to paint the rest and clear coat or leave the bottom birch and stain it. As far as the heat goes, the back foam is actually a lid and has a couple holes in it, for cables, to access the power, and to vent the tubes. She does get hot though, especially the power adapter after long sessions. My CD table actually gets the warmest and feels like it could blister

PS. The Casio VL-1 and Monotron don't travel with me usually, they are there for sampling :D

whaaaaa but that casio is the shiz. ever thought of cracking it open and doing a little bending?
i have a little sticker that is orange with a black arrow that fit right on top of my tube gain knob, then i just hit it with a little sealer. ever since then i have wanted to make some other little toppers like maybe the classic windows pointer finger, knifes, penises and whatnot but am too scattered and lazy.
