Electribe Noob saying hi

Postby sh0wtime on Mon Aug 18, 2014 1:04 pm

Hi guys
very new to this stuff so forgive any dumb questions...
i saw an EMX for sale on a photography forum a while ago with links to a couple of youtube vids & i was like wow check that out!

somebody bought it before me & i forgot all about it, then a little while ago on a rainy Sunday i went on ebay & bought one :D
not had much to do with it yet as been either away or working but have managed to check out a few more videos!
somebody i know has an ES1 mk11 that seems to be going cheap. would this be of any use to me? would it work in conjunction with my EMX?
i can afford it i just don't want to buy it if i'll never use it

The ES1 is a sampler - you could use it in conjunction with your EMX if you wanted to. There are plenty of examples on You Tube of people running samplers alongside their EMX. I personally don't have one, but I can definitely see the appeal of it.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

sounds like it's worth a go then. its not expensive so i think i'll go for it.
i just ordered a Kaossilator Pro Plus after trying a smaller version.
will that work in connection with my EMX? it has a midi socket so i guess it should.
apologies for not knowing exactly what a midi socket does but i will have a search for answers :?

starting to build a little collection already

Remember that MIDI is NOT for audio - it's control messages only. You can sync your machines to play together, control one from the other, etc., but you are not passing any audio down that signal path. Hope that helps!
