Aaaaaand.. Despite the uber-lame Elektron vids (except for the epic official trailer, lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8qqPjpOlZI ) the first user reviews are stunning:

THIS SHALL BE F'KCING MINE!! MINE I SAY!!!!!

selling off stuff right now for this :)

(can you tell I'm an Elektron fanboy?)

and the price? as a guy who started off with Electribes (ER, EA & ESX) and took the plunge to the Elektrons (Now own Machinedrum & Monomachine), I can say that they are well worth it. there are simply no better hardware instruments for live use that cover so much ground, is so intuitive and quick, fun, easy but at the same time so deep its frightening.

I'm gonna prech the octatrack pretty loud around here when I get it ;)

I know Ruso just posted his "groovelton" idea, but at least for now this is the closest hardware alternative to a software sampler that I have seen.

Check it: you can design your own LFO's and they can be used to modulate the start-point of samples, including drum loops. Imagine the breaks-mangling possibilities!

no need to imagine, just watch:

not so much break-mangling in the beginning, but just listen to how things morph in perfect sync as it goes....

Sadly, even if I sold all my equipment (sound included) I still wouldn't have enough to buy one! Man I want one too, would make things so much easier :D

Guess I'll start saving!
